The Genius Bar at Dominion'26: Where DomainFi Became Real
By Mark Trang, Chief Marketing Officer, D3
At Dominion 2026, the stage was set with keynotes, panels, and major announcements. But some of the most consequential moments of the conference happened not on stage, they happened at a single station tucked into the heart of the venue floor:
The Genius Bar

The premise was straightforward. Bring the product directly to people who have never touched a blockchain wallet, never bridged funds, never traded a tokenized asset and make DomainFi feel easy. Not just possible. Easy.
The Genius Bar was designed to collapse the gap between curiosity and action, between DomainFi as a concept and DomainFi as something you can actually do right now on Doma.
What followed over two days was one of the most direct expressions of what we're building at D3: a live, high-friction problem being solved in real time, at scale, by a team that believes the future of the domain economy depends on removing exactly these kinds of barriers.
Designed to Remove Every Obstacle
The Genius Bar wasn't a product demo station or a passive display. It was a five-station operational nerve center, each one targeting a specific moment of friction in the onboarding journey and staffed by our engineering team members who helped unblock people and move them forward.
The philosophy was borrowed from the best of service design: meet people exactly where they are, solve the one thing standing in their way, and send them to the next step with confidence. No jargon, no pressure, no assumption about what they already knew.

The Hardest Part, Made Simple
Bridging is where most Web3 onboarding journeys stall. Moving funds between blockchains sounds technical because it usually gets explained that way. At the Genius Bar, it didn't. The process was stripped to its core "you're moving money from one place so you can use it here" and every user was walked through it personally, on their own device, before moving on.

The First Trade
The fastest way to understand DomainFi is to participate in it. Users arrived at a QR code, scanned it, and within thirty seconds were looking at live domain tokens — $SOFTWARE.AI, $RIDES.COM, $ALERT.AI — real assets, trading now. The moment a trade confirmed, the conversation shifted. It wasn't abstract anymore. It was theirs.

Meeting People Where They Are
Not everyone at Dominion arrived as a crypto-native. The product demo station opened with one question: Web2 or Web3? For domain professionals, the framing was liquidity — here's how the names you already know become tradeable and globally accessible. For Web3-native attendees, the conversation went straight into Doma's architecture and market opportunity. Either way, it ended the same: a direct handoff to the trading desk.

The Rewards Counter
Every activation on the event floor had a destination: the Rewards Counter. Coupons earned through activations, challenges and game wins were redeemed on the spot: USDC, domain tokens, free transfers, free domains and more.

What This Actually Proved
The biggest barrier to DomainFi adoption isn't awareness. It's the first ten minutes. The Genius Bar proved those ten minutes are solvable — in real time, at a conference, without requiring anyone to be a developer. That's the Doma thesis in action: not a deck, not a whitepaper.

"These are real internet domains, now accessible in a more liquid and onchain-native way."
